SBWIS is offering our members the opportunity to try therapeutic horseback riding for your very first time! New riders will be given priority to attend this event and we need min of 3 and max of 5 people registered for it to happen.
This event will included unmounted time getting familiar with the horses and their care, and a mounted experience. Three Gaits requires closed toe and heeled shoes, weight of rider under 185lbs, and using one of their provided riding helmets.
If you’ve never done this before - now is your chance to TRY IT! If you have ridden before, you can register, but you may be bumped if we have enough new riders interested.

Adult Talk and Tacos is just a clever title for a fun lunch event for our adults with spina bifida.
Meet us for lunch at 12:30pm on Saturday, May 18th at La Cantina!
SBWIS will pay for lunch for our adult (18 years old and up) SBWIS members and one companion. Enjoy sharing your experiences, resources and peer support with one-another, while dining on delicious Mexican food. You don’t have to order tacos!
We are hoping to have a minimum of 6 adult members registered for this event. If fewer than 6 adults with SB register by the deadline, we will open the event to other ages, or cancel. You’ll receive an email Monday, May 13th with details and to confirm your attendance.
Lake Country Dockhounds game on Sunday, June 2nd 1:05pm against the Kane County Cougars from Geneva, IL. We will take you out to the ball game!
For each SBWIS member, and a plus one companion, this event includes admission to the game for Dugout seating Section 110 or 108.
For our SB members, this event is limited to 4 people requiring wheelchair seating and 6 okay with regular seating.
This seating arrangement is 2 wheelchair users sitting next to each other, and plus one companions in the row behind them. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU WON’T BE NEXT TO EACH OTHER. See diagram image below.
RSVPs will prioritize our SBWIS members and their plus ones. Additional friends and family members may or may not be allowed to attend, depending on responses. We need a minimum of 10 people, so please RSVP using the form below to help us make decisions about the event.

Danny and his family host this golf outing every year to provide funds and services for individuals in Wisconsin with, or affected by Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida Wisconsin, Ltd. works closely with Danny’s family to carry out their generous wishes.
Join us for a social event at the inclusive Shaw Family Playground in Sheboygan. We are looking forward to meeting our members in this area and hope you can join us, play together, and build friendships! All ages are welcome to attend and enjoy hanging out with us!
Refreshments will be provided by SBWIS and a generous sponsorship from Rehab Resources.
FYI, to prepare for our event, in addition to the Men’s and Women’s bathrooms, there are two separate bathrooms each with adult changing tables.

It is time to sign up! FYI, this event is limited to 30 people due to room size and will include FREE pizza/soda and indoor games. 1:30 arrival, pizza served and lunch social 1:45, 2:15pm - ? how ever long you choose to stay and play games.

SBWIS is hosting an event in Janesville for our members and we can’t wait to see you! Our plan is to host our spina bifida members (any age), along with their immediate family members for lunch (purchased from the venue) and Valentine’s Day crafts and activities.
For this event, SBWIS will pay for lunch for the person with spina bifida plus one. Lunch choices are below in the registration form.
Other family members are welcome to attend and enjoy the activities with us, the venue cafe will be open for your lunch orders.

Join us on January 27th at 12:00pm at Water Street Brewery (3191 Golf Rd Delafield, WI 53018) for this fun social opportunity. This new location will hopefully draw from both the Madison and Milwaukee areas. We will have a private room in their wheelchair accessible restaurant for our group and more than just burgers will be on the menu.

Krystyn is an author who has spina bifida and her book includes a spiritual approach to coping, along with her story of surgery and adapting to change. We can’t wait for you to join us at Madison’s new accessible park. Elver Park is located at 1250 McKenna Blvd. Click HERE for park information and features. Stop by the play area between 10:30am and 12:30pm to meet SBWIS staff and hang out with other SBWIS members of all ages!
Depending on shelter rental expense and availability, we may be able to provide space for a DIY picnic lunch. Stay tuned for more details! SBWIS will provide snacks and bottled water.
We are hoping to include a children’s book walk for you to enjoy, as part of this event.
We also encourage families to bring clean, gently used, out-grown, adaptive shoes and equipment to swap and pass on (free) to another SB family in need. Other than providing the opportunity, SBWIS accepts no responsibility / liability for exchanges made.

We will be providing free food (hotdog, water, chips, dessert) based on a donation from Kwik Trip to all who attend (while supplies last), free ice cream for children in attendance (while supplies last) from Sweet Abilities, a free tote bag (while supplies last) donated by ADRC for families/individuals to carry all the wonderful hand-outs and flyers that agencies have for those who attend, as well as offering child care from 4:30-5:30pm, as provided by Waterford Union High School Best Buddies.
Individuals and families who attend will also have the opportunity to try to win one of over 15+ door prizes from a number of great places, such as the Racine County Zoo, Lake Geneva Cruise Line, Burlington Pool, Lake Country Dockhounds, Milwaukee Public Museum, Racine County Fair, Milwaukee Milkmen, Milwaukee Wave, Milwaukee Admirals, Woodman's, Harbor Shores of Lake Geneva, Adventure Rock, East Troy Electric Railroad, Glen Erin Golf Club, and more....
Plus, families can see a fire truck outside and a K9 dog walking around inside with his handler.
