Join SBWIS members and experience the thrill of adaptive indoor rock wall climbing. Adventure Rock in Brookfield has trained staff, physical therapists assisting us, and they ensure a safe environment for our group. This event is FREE for SBWIS members, ages 5 and older, under 300 lbs body weight, can be wheelchair user or ambulatory, and is limited to 6 climbers total. Deadline for registration is October 20th. You will receive an email to confirm your participation with an attached waiver. All participants must complete the visitor-agreement required by Adventure Rock signed by a parent/guardian. Parents must attend the event with children 17 and under.

Enjoy a hay ride around the serene property, pick your own pumpkin, participate in the pumpkin Olympics, and relax with light refreshments. All planned activities are fully accessible to kids with special needs. This FREE event is exclusively for children with special needs and their families. Three Gaits Therapeutic Horsemanship Center in Stoughton, WI is happy to host SBWIS members for an afternoon of horseback riding. This event is open youth (minimum age 3 years) and adults with Spina Bifida to a maximum number of 18 riders. If we don't have 18 people with SB registered, we will open this to family members of only those attending. The deadline for registration is September 17th. If you show up without pre-registering you will be responsible for the fee to horseback ride; and there may not be a chance for you to ride.
Please bring your own picnic lunch and eat together from 12:30 to 1:00pm. Horseback rides will go from 1:00 to 4:00pm.
Riders must print this form as required by Three Gaits and bring the completed form with you to the event. Click HERE for the Three Gaits registration form. Riders must comply with these clothing regulations from Three Gaits - or you may not be able to ride:
A safety helmet (ATSM-SEI approved) must be worn and is provided.
Long pants such as blue jeans, stirrup pants or riding pants.
Protective sun screen, sun glasses and insect repellant as needed.
Shoes with sturdy heels (oxfords, riding boots) or non-slip soles are recommended.
No sandals, crocs, clogs, open-toed or open-heeled shoes.
1:30 to 3:00pm – Join other SB families and have a great time bowling at Skipp’s Bowling Center 2300 Strongs Ave. Stevens Point, WI. SBWIS will pay for one game & shoes per person. This event is appropriate for people of all ages with SB and their immediate family members.

Today is the deadline to request a Scholarship for Higher Education.
Our Scholarship for Higher Education Fund is in memory of Mary Ann Potts and was established in 1996. The scholarship offers assistance for such necessities as tuition, books, fees, room and board, transportation and specialized equipment needs. Applicants must have Spina Bifida and meet the criteria of the application. Each individual may receive funding once per calendar year. Direct payment to the school is required.
To request funding from this scholarship, please download the application HERE and email the completed application to email@example.com by August 21st. Your request will be considered by the SBWIS Board of Directors, and granted as funds allow.

Join us on August 12th for the 24th Annual Sprint for Spina Bifida family friendly event as we celebrate "Chasing Our Dreams"! Race day includes light refreshments, resources and vendor displays, games, mural painting, Kid's Dash, awards and more. This event benefits Wisconsin families affected by the disabling birth defect, Spina Bifida. Funds raised provide financial assistance to families, camp scholarships and community social events. Thank you for joining SBWIS.
To ensure everyone's comfort and safety, no bikes, roller blades or pets will be allowed. The Sprint for Spina Bifida will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel for severe weather threats. Should this occur, no refunds will be provided and your entry fee will be used as a donation to SBWIS. Thank you for your understanding.

8:20AM: 5K runners and wheelchairs depart - route includes driveways on campus and paved park path; must run single-file on park path. You may be stopped and have to wait until directed by police officers when crossing the street.
8:30AM: 2 mile walk and roll departs - route includes one driveway on campus and paved park path; must walk on right side of park path; allowing for 2 way pedestrian traffic. You may be stopped and have to wait until directed by police officers when crossing the street.
10:00AM: Awards Ceremony
10:30AM: Raffle drawing; must be present to win
Rowdy Race Day Raffle tickets sold from 7am to 10:15am - 6 tickets for $5.00 - so many great items are included!

Join us for a night of shopping at Mayfair Mall on Monday, July 24th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
This event is appropriate for teens and young adults with disabilities (ages 13 to 30 years old). You will be joined by a small group of Pi Kappa Phi Journey of Hope North Team cyclists to enjoy socializing, shopping and making new friends. Meet our group in the food court at 6:15pm; pick-up at the end of the event will also be in the food court.
SBWIS members will receive a $10.00 cash stipend to spend how you choose as you explore the mall, shop or have a meal with your group. Other participants with disabilities should bring their own money.

Danny and his family host this golf outing every year to provide funds and services for individuals in Wisconsin with, or affected by Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida Wisconsin, Ltd. works closely with the family to carry out their generous wishes.
All golfers will enjoy lunch, an 18 hole scramble, refreshments on the course, and dinner.
Following golf, everyone is invited to a social hour with an open bar and a chance to participate in spectacular silent and voice auctions and raffles. Space is limited.
