Danny is 24 years old and enjoys working in the community. He spends time volunteering for several organization like a hospital, a manufacturing company and several small non-profits. He finds his volunteer work very rewarding because it gives him meaningful ways to spend his time helping others. Danny is passionate about baseball, watching Packer games, working on the computer and traveling. Danny spends his free time using his home gym and he loves time with his family. Danny is a faithful Brewers fan and currently has the goal of attending an away game each year in a different city. This year he has his eye on attending a game in San Diego.
He was born with Spina Bifida, the most common permanently disabling birth defect in the United States. Spina Bifida causes abnormal functions in three primary areas: the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), the urological system (kidneys and bladder), and the musculoskeletal system (bones and muscles). As a result, several body systems cannot function properly, making it a lifelong condition. People with Spina Bifida require on-going medical care including therapy, medication and surgeries. Although Spina Bifida is not curable, most people born with this disability will live full productive lives.
Danny is surrounded by a large and loving family. His uncle, Tom, is chairman for this golf outing in honor of Danny. This event is a bright spot in Danny's year. He is very touched by all the support the outing brings. The funds raised from this event will support the programs and services provided by Spina Bifida Wisconsin. They are changing the lives and helping others like Danny grow and fulfill their dreams.
