Join us for a night of shopping at Mayfair Mall on Monday, July 23rd from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
This event is appropriate for teens and young adults with disabilities (ages 13 years old and up). You will be joined by a small group of Pi Kappa Phi Journey of Hope North Team cyclists to enjoy socializing, shopping and making new friends. Meet our group in the food court at 6:00pm; pick-up at the end of the event will also be in the food court.
SBWIS members will receive a $10.00 cash stipend to spend how you choose as you explore the mall, shop or have a meal with your group. Other participants with disabilities should bring their own money.

Join us on August 11th for the 25th Annual Sprint for Spina Bifida family friendly event as we celebrate "Let the Good Times Roll"! Race day includes light refreshments, resources and vendor displays, games, Kid's Dash, awards and more. This event benefits Wisconsin families affected by the disabling birth defect, Spina Bifida. Funds raised provide financial assistance to families, camp scholarships and community social events. Thank you for supporting SBWIS.
To ensure everyone's comfort and safety, no bikes, roller blades or pets will be allowed. The Sprint for Spina Bifida will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel for severe weather threats. Should this occur, no refunds will be provided and your entry fee will be used as a donation to SBWIS. Thank you for your understanding.
Today is the deadline to request a Scholarship for Higher Education.
Our Scholarship for Higher Education Fund is in memory of Mary Ann Potts and was established in 1996. The scholarship offers assistance for such necessities as tuition, books, fees, room and board, transportation and specialized equipment needs. Applicants must have Spina Bifida and meet the criteria of the application. Each individual may receive funding once per calendar year. Direct payment to the school is required.
To request funding from this scholarship, please download the application HERE and email the completed application to firstname.lastname@example.org by August 14th. Your request will be considered by the SBWIS Board of Directors, and granted as funds allow.

We are looking forward to summer fun with our mid-state families! SBWIS is hosting a picnic for people with spina bifida of all ages, along with their immediate family members. This FREE event will begin at 11:00am and will include sub sandwiches for lunch along with a short presentation from Kathy about fundraising opportunities. Please join us to meet others and share your life experiences. This location has a playground, basketball court and sandbox. Please bring toys (latex free) to share. Danny and his family host this golf outing every year to provide funds and services for individuals in Wisconsin with, or affected by Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida Wisconsin, Ltd. works closely with the family to carry out their generous wishes.
All golfers will enjoy lunch, an 18 hole scramble, refreshments on the course, and dinner.
Following golf, everyone is invited to a social hour with an open bar and a chance to participate in spectacular silent and voice auctions and raffles. Space is limited. Registration is open. Click HERE
Enjoy a morning of playing and fun with other Spina Bifida Families. This event includes time in the Children's Museum of Fond du Lac, a snack, and a classroom to store coats, diaper bags, etc... SBWIS is hosting this FREE event for Spina Bifida children age 5 and younger, including family members (siblings/parents/guardian/grandparent). THE DEADLINE FOR THIS EVENT HAS PASSED.

Join us at Valley View Mall Food Court from 1:00 to 2:30pm to meet other families, chat, and have a snack. SBWIS will provide $5.00 to each person with spina bifida. This is a great chance to learn more about SBWIS services. Event is open to area professionals or service providers too.

We will meet at the Children's Museum from 10am to 12:30pm. SBWIS will pay for the child with spina bifida and their immediate family members (parent/guardian/siblings). The museum has a guest program of meeting Mickey and her Pet Therapy dog Mishka and learning what it is like to have a dog helper.
RSVP by April 6th - minimum of 5 people with SB must be registered or event will be cancelled. SBWIS is collecting gently used equipment (wheelchairs, canes, walkers, etc...) to donate to Katy's Kloset for another family to benefit from their free loan program.

We have a party room reserved for chatting, the kids will receive game tokens, and everyone will benefit from peer support. This event is FREE to SBWIS members and their immediate family members. Join other SBWIS families for our first BURGER BASH in Eau Claire, WI at Red Robin from 4:30pm to 7:30pm on Saturday, Jan 27th. An SBWIS family will be coordinating things and meeting people that evening. SBWIS will pay for the meal for the family member with SB (charged at the restaurant). SBWIS has 6 people already registered for this event. The registration is closed for the Oct. 28th date. If you are interested, please fill out the form below to be put on a waiting list in case someone cancels for Oct. 28th. Also, based on interest SBWIS can schedule another date for our members to climb. If you don't complete the form I won't know that additional people were interested.
Join SBWIS members and experience the thrill of adaptive indoor rock wall climbing. Adventure Rock in Brookfield has trained staff, physical therapists assisting us, and they ensure a safe environment for our group. This event is FREE for SBWIS members, ages 5 and older, under 300 lbs body weight, can be wheelchair user or ambulatory, and is limited to 6 climbers total. Deadline for registration is October 20th. You will receive an email to confirm your participation with an attached waiver. All participants must complete the visitor-agreement required by Adventure Rock signed by a parent/guardian. Parents must attend the event with children 17 and under.

Enjoy a hay ride around the serene property, pick your own pumpkin, participate in the pumpkin Olympics, and relax with light refreshments. All planned activities are fully accessible to kids with special needs. This FREE event is exclusively for children with special needs and their families. Three Gaits Therapeutic Horsemanship Center in Stoughton, WI is happy to host SBWIS members for an afternoon of horseback riding. This event is open youth (minimum age 3 years) and adults with Spina Bifida to a maximum number of 18 riders. If we don't have 18 people with SB registered, we will open this to family members of only those attending. The deadline for registration is September 17th. If you show up without pre-registering you will be responsible for the fee to horseback ride; and there may not be a chance for you to ride.
Please bring your own picnic lunch and eat together from 12:30 to 1:00pm. Horseback rides will go from 1:00 to 4:00pm.

A safety helmet (ATSM-SEI approved) must be worn and is provided.
Long pants such as blue jeans, stirrup pants or riding pants.

Shoes with sturdy heels (oxfords, riding boots) or non-slip soles are recommended.
No sandals, crocs, clogs, open-toed or open-heeled shoes.
